Alina Onanko / Croissant
– music with taste, homemade in Kyiv
Blending folk, electro-swing, jazz and experimental rock, Круасан/Croissant crafts contemporary conceptual music in Ukrainian, English, and French. They seamlessly mix electronic instruments with live accordion, guitar and saxophone, driven by rich female vocals. Exploring love, happiness, sorrow, and courage, their songs create a deep, universal connection no matter where you are.
Starting with a musical imagery, Круасан/Croissant shapes a raw, minimalist sound. Fusing modern electronic instruments with organic textures, they use everything from voice-as-an-instrument to unconventional percussion like paper or buckets, often inviting guest strings or brass. Their live shows are a dynamic rollercoaster from whispers to rock, filled with vivid improvisations and audience interaction.
The band's creative footprint also includes a folk song released under the guitarist's project Phontanz.
The video In my house (dir. Y. Karabak, dop M. Koshmak) won Best Clip at the International Film Festival Cinema and You in Mariupil. Based in Kyiv, the band actively performs at festivals and is open to international collaborations.
