pianist and composer who incorporates rock and folk elements into contemporary jazz

“Revival” is the debut album by a young pianist and composer from Ukraine. The album tells the artist’s personal story about a difficult period in his life. The work encompasses a wide range of emotions, from hope to deep depression and the journey out of it. The album was recorded at the Odesa National Academy of Music. It features the composer’s vocals and elements of beatboxing. The seventh track features by the talented saxophonist Sergei Demura.

Artem Selikhanovich was born in 2001 in Odesa (Ukraine) into a musical family. Artem’s mother is a professional pianist and teacher. At the age of 5, Artem began studying jazz. He became a laureate and the youngest participant in the Odesa Jazz Competition and performed on radio and TV. As a student of Music College, Artem became a pianist in a Big Band and played with Gregory Boyd and Ingrid Arthur.

Artem wrote and recorded his first single, “Mantra” in 2019. Later he was a member of the 1st All-Ukrainian Youth Session Jazz Band and jazz festivals in Odesa, Vinnytsia, etc. In 2023, Artem released his debut album “Revival,” that was recorded in the Odesa National Academy of Music.

This album was presented at the International Cultural Center "Union". Next record was at the Odesa Philharmonic Hall in 2025. You can hear that Artem as a composer shares his personal inner experiences and emotions, but also you can find your own way from depression to hope in his music.
