Olesia Pupina

– classical pianist & music teacher & Suzuki-educator from Ukraine

Olesia Pupina had a combined career as an acclaimed classical pianist combined with a broad range of innovative work in music education in Kharkiv, Ukraine. Her work stretched from solo performances to ensembles and symphony orchestras. When the war broke out, she was displaced to Sweden and is currently based in Örebro.

As a soloist and ensemble player, Olesia has performed in numerous concerts, competitions, and festivals playing in various large ensembles, including a symphony orchestra, and a wind symphony. She worked as an accompanist in different departments at the I.P. Kotliarevskyi Kharkiv University of the Arts (Ukraine) and at Illinois State University (the USA).

As a pianist, Olesia is laureate of international competitions, a collaborative pianist, a Suzuki piano teacher, certified by the European Suzuki Association, a piano teacher, a member of the Orff Schulwerk Association Ukraine and an author of 12 scientific articles.

Olesia was an Associate Professor at the Department of Chamber Ensemble at the I.P. Kotliarevskyi Kharkiv University of the Arts. Olesia got her Ph.D. after her master's degree,  assistantship training, and post-graduation (2015). Later she was a DAAD scholar in Germany at several Universities (2019). She also was a collaborative pianist in the graduate assistantship program at Illinois State University (the USA).

Since 2018 Olesia has been actively training and practicing the Suzuki method and she is a certified Suzuki teacher (III level) of the European Suzuki Association.

 Since the beginning of the war, she has been moved to Sweden and had been working as a pianist at Wiger-Pilotti Unlimited AB.
