Kontrabass Promo is a Ukrainian full-cycle music agency and label, home to a growing catalog of hundreds of songs by indie and underground artists. The agency supports musicians with releases, PR, licensing, and synchronization, and also runs the largest indie booking roster in Ukraine—connecting diverse acts with stages across the country and giving visibility to a new wave of independent music.

Within the agency, Olha Martynenko works as label manager for Pyrih i Batih, a band whose music fuses sung poetry, indie, and psychedelic folk. The group draws on forgotten Ukrainian poems—many silenced under Soviet repression—and revives them through ethnographic research and inventive performance techniques. Their baroque-inspired arrangements, experimental approaches, and Marian Pyrih’s hypnotic voice create a sound both rooted in history and strikingly modern. The band has earned millions of streams, performed countless concerts across Ukraine, and recently gained viral popularity with a song featured in a Ukrainian TV series.

Looking ahead, Olha is focused on helping Pyrih i Batih reach international stages, with the ambition to perform at WOMEX and at KEXP, and eventually at leading world music festivals.
