Viktoria Dzyziuk / NAZVA
– Alternative ethno-art chaos
Viktoria Dzyziuk is the manager of NAZVA - a Ukrainian Galician - Donbas band created by Pavlo Hots and Yaroslav Yarovenko, who reimagine traditional folk music into a new musical style called alternative ethno-art chaos. NAZVA plays Ukrainian-centred new folk and pop music and is committed to take Ukrainian culture to the world. NAZVA has released three full-length albums, produced 15 music videos, and continues to actively tour across Ukraine.
"Physics as a new magic professes what we cannot imagine, what we have not invented a name for. And I thought: for sure, what could be cooler than the name - NAZVA (from ukrainian НАЗВА – The Name)? You cannot imagine something that has no name, because you do not name it, so we have a name - NAZVA. You take it and imagine it.” - Pavlo Gots
NAZVA consists of two musicians: Pavlo Gots and Yaroslav Yarovenko, who play five musical instruments on stage. They began their creative journey in 2019 as a musical theater, creating performances about the Ukrainian Executed Renaissance and soundtracks for art exhibitions.
In 2022 the band released their debut album “Nazva”, which included nine compositions, including "Сіґеле-міґеле" - the song took first place in the Ukrainian Shazam chart within a month and gained more than 5 million views on YouTube.
In 2024, NAZVA became a finalist of the National Eurovision Song Contest 2024 and performed in the final with the song "SLAVIC ENGLISH", taking the eleventh place in the table. They also released their album “Parostok” (Sprout) — a record about home and the feeling of belonging. The album consists of 9 tracks, including Chuzhiyu Ya (I Become a Stranger), a major hit created in collaboration with Brykulets.
The band also released a track with one of the most well-known Ukrainian artists Artem Pivovarov. The song Tok-Tok (Knock-Knock) is based on the Ukrainian folk tale Kotyk ta Pivnyk (The Cat and the Rooster).
In 2025, Pavlo Hots joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, the band continues its creative activity: performing large solo concerts and consistently working on new material. Over the past year, the band received the “Listeners’ Choice” award from the media LiRoom and Pavlo Hots was included in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
