Kora player, composer and arranger
Lamine Cissokho is a Senegalese kora master based in Sweden, where he is one of the big names on the World Music scenes. He also tours regularly in Europe since many years. Sharing the music and the stage, daring the dialogue between kora and unexpected instruments, bringing together styles and cultures – these are Lamine’s strenghts. He has an enormous scenic energy and an impressive technicality.

With his roots in a family of griots with traditions way back to the 14th century, Lamine constantly enriches this heritage with own compositions giving pride of place to different cultures and influences, thus creating a rather unique style abounding with new tunes, rhythmic pieces and often finely resized by the use of loops. Lamine performs in solo or in duo.
