Percussionist, singer, songwriter, producer and artist. Born in Córdoba, Argentina Liliana Zavala began her professional career as a percussionist at age 17. She later moved to Stockholm where she now has her base while working in Sweden and around the world. Liliana has worked with a number of artists and bands both live and in recording studios, theatre and television. She currently works in projects such as Tamboreras, The Forbidden Orchestra, Golbang, Abjeez and Fever Ray.
Her powerful trio presents her own compositions in a show where all three members have an important place providing a new and original expression to the music scene. With Lisa Löwgren on double bass/ baby bass/bass and Marian Pellegrino on guitars.
They take us on a melodic journey through the world of modern folklore from the various Argentinian and Latin American rhythms to the new influences of Swedish folk music. Choirs and rhythms are based on the African minimalism of question and answer.
Liliana was nominated as Artist of the year at the World music Gala in Sweden 2018 following her debut CD Cabildo. The CD was released in 2017 and has been successfully presented on tours in Sweden and Argentina and received very good reviews from the media.
During her many travels around the world, Liliana has taken inspiration from different music traditions and styles such as Latin American folklore, salsa, rock, pop, latin jazz, world music and modern music.
