Since its foundation in 1991, the Romeo & Julia Kören has gained international reputation as guardians and renewers of the rich musical treasure of the Renaissance. At The Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden, where the group has its origin, The Romeo & Julia Kören are given scope to develop and stage their own productions.

These productions are signified by an inventive way of combining music, drama and dance. The music carries the story while the context fortifies the songs. The power of this interaction thrills audiences and critics at festivals world-wide - monks in Tibet and teenagers in Mexico, orphanage in Montenegro and sold-out amphitheatre in Albania.

The Romeo & Julia Kören has done a vast number of tours around the world (i.e. Venezuela, Poland, Italy, Mexico, USA, Great Britain, Croatia, Israel, France, Russia, Japan, Greece etc.) and experienced the outstanding effect of their work worldwide. They both perform and arrange workshops for adults and even for young public. They have performed at five banquets for the Nobel Prize laureates (1992, 1993, 2002, 2009 and 2011). In June 2010 they performed at the Royal Wedding between Crown Princess Victoria and Mr. Daniel Westling at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.
